Prestigious Board of Directors Governs FDHF
Florida’s Dental Charity is governed by a 25-member Board of Directors. Currently, 19 sitting members set policy and populate the working committees that mobilize and distribute resources in accordance with the Foundation’s mission.
The Foundation Board meets in January and June. Routine activities and protection of the Foundation’s credibility and accountability are continuously monitored by an eight-member executive committee.
The Florida Dental Association Board of Trustees appoints a majority of sitting directors. The sitting directors appoint the balance of the directorate which must include a representative from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and Nova-Southeastern College of Dental Medicine. Other directors may include private practicing, public health and retired dentists along with representatives of allied dental health organizations and corporations.
The Board of Directors includes some of the dental community's most influential leaders. The Board is comprised of ADA House of Delegates members; current and past officers of national and state dental-specialty organizations; FDA past presidents, officers, trustees and council members; current and past FDA component and affiliate officers; corporate executives; and representatives from Florida's dental education institutions.
